Lieberman: Palin Not Prepared To Lead On Day One

joe lieberman and john mccain

“U.S. Sen. Joseph Lieberman Friday continued to stand by Republican John McCain’s selection of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin as a running mate. But when asked by The Advocate if Palin is ready to be president from day one, Lieberman said ‘thank God she’s not going to have to be president from day one. McCain’s going to be alive and well.’” [Link]

And that is PRECISELY why I’m not voting for McCain.

I can’t fathom the possibility that a 72-year-old could have a stroke, a heart attack, a seizure, or just peacefully die in his sleep with no warning. Or (God forbid) be assassinated, as Reagan nearly was.

God help us all if Sarah Palin were to ever be vaulted to the Presidency in a sudden-death scenario. McCain himself said that the office of President doesn’t lend itself to on-the-job training.

What the hell was he thinking?
