"Ten U.S. troops were killed Wednesday in four incidents across Iraq, the U.S. military said. Specifics of the incidents were not immediately released. Earlier in the day, the military said that another U.S. soldier was killed in combat Sunday. The deaths bring the number of U.S. troops killed since the start of the Iraq war to 2,910. Seven civilian contractors of the Defense Department also have died. Twenty-seven U.S. troops have been killed in December.
