It's sentencing day for a former substitute teacher who admitted she had an affair with a high school student and became pregnant with his child. Christine Scarlett, 40, pleaded guilty last month to five felony counts, including sexual battery and disseminating obscene materials to juveniles. The former substitute teacher was ordered on Tuesday to serve three days in jail and five years' probation. Judge Dick Ambrose of Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court said he put her on probation because she had no other criminal record and has obligations as a mother. She has a 3-year-old son from the relationship and two other children with her husband. (Link)
