“Carmina Erica Lopez, 32, a fifth-grade teacher at Sunnyslope Elementary School in Palm City, was taken into custody about 7:30 p.m. in front of her San Ysidro home, Chula Vista police Lt. Dan Linney said. Investigators believe that Lopez began having sex with the boy, who is now 15, when she was his sixth-grade teacher in 2004. The relationship with the boy ended last year, Linney said. Police have not said how the allegations came to their attention.” [Link]
