Texas High School Cheerleaders Suspended For Drug Use

“Five Lewisville ISD cheerleaders accused of using illegal drugs at a private camp last weekend will be suspended from their squads for three events, a district spokeswoman said today. The five students, both girls and boys, attend two high schools: Lewisville and Marcus.” Link

Miranda Jackson Lawsuit: Teen Cheerleader Claims Cheer Coach Took Facebook Password

“The suit claims that the 16 year-old cheerleader, Miranda Jackson, was forced to hand over her Facebook password to a coach during school hours on September 10, 2007, even though she had never used Facebook at school. Tommie Hill, a cheer teacher and sponsor, allegedly used that info to log in to Jackson’s account and, “disseminated the information within Jackson’s Facebook account to fellow Pearl High School teacher, dance and cheer sponsor Tiffany Durr, cheer trainer Corey Byrd, Principal Ray Morgigno, Superintendant John Ladner, and other unknown individuals.”” Link

“Wendy Brown is charged with felony identity theft after enrolling in a Wisconsin high school as her daughter. The criminal complaint says Brown admitted to telling school officials she was 15 because she wanted to get her high school diploma and join the cheerleading squad. She allegedly attended practices, received a cheerleader’s locker and went to a pool party at the coach’s house. The complaint says Brown has a history of identity theft. Her daughter lives in Nevada with Brown’s mother.” [Link]
