Former Miss Maryland Tia Shorts Pleads Guilty In Drug Case

“Police originally charged her with conspiracy to distribute cocaine, possession of cocaine and possession of marijuana in a case that also led to the drug-related arrests of her boyfriend and his brother and 67-year-old mother, who was found with a bag of white powder in her ‘bra area,’ police said. Prosecutors dropped those charges against Shorts. She pleaded guilty Thursday to obstructing and hindering a police investigation and is scheduled to be sentenced in November. ” Link

Barges Hit Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel

“Two barges reportedly struck the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel this morning, and officials have closed the southbound lanes while they check for damages. “Ming Yueh Liang, 67, who was released on an unsecured bond, gave lessons at his home in the 2800 block of Deerfield Drive in Ellicott City. An 11-year-old girl came forward claim several months worth of sexual abuse, which come as a shock to the neighborhood. ‘It’s disturbing to hear something like that. “A Maryland pastor has been charged with multiple counts of sexual child abuse. The Charles County Sheriffs Special Victims Unit arrested Tony Ray Malbrough, 44, of Indian Head, on January 18. Charles County Sheriffs began investigating when they were contacted by a 14-year-old boy who reported he had been sexually abused by Malbrough, while receiving music lessons at Malbrough’s home.” [Link]
