Good for them both, let no Man put asunder! Ellen and Portia have to commit to each other. If Portia becomes unfaithful, she gets nothing and if Ellen becomes unfaithful she gets half of her wealth! The marriage law is fair in USA. Ellen’s first domestic partner has to pay heavily to her ex-husband now!
Marriage is a strong commit and under the eyes of the law they will benefit from it, in their relationship and for tax purpose it is good for both of them. Portia should not work,for her job is a lousy one, too, stressful and she is getting old. Being an Australian she is also at a disadvantage.
