Geez. Reading way too much into this. Just be entertained.

I agree with peter. this really annoys me. first of all, they’re robots,and they’re green and red, so they’re in no way representative of black people. second I think that language and personality is more dependant on where you are brought up than what colour your skin is. i’ve also heard that their faces are racially stereotypical, well they look like gremlins to me, which don’t look like humans at all.
Then the whole not being able to read thing. let’s see, they only say they can’t read cybertronian, and lets remember that they are supposed to be young characters and the autobots haven’t been on cybertron for thousands upon thousands of years because of the cube etc, so they wouldn’t have learned cybertronian because they may never have ctually lived on cybertron, at least not before the society was destroyed.

Skids and Mudflap are cute robots! I love them because they are funny and they indeed provide comic relief in the movie.
